January 2026

Aries

Because the Sun will always spend the last 10 days and the first three weeks of each year in your career sector, the most competitive and professionally charged part of your chart, it is a given that this will be where the focus is, in the early weeks of each year. Even more so this year, with your competitive spirit not only more enhanced, but you will find that it is easy to channel this into both personal and professional resolutions for the coming year. This is in addition to the planets that you would normally find here at this time of year, for you also have Mars, the planet of passion and the warrior planet of the cosmos and the asteroid Juno, the queen of commitment here. It was Mars who kicked things off a week before the Sun returned last month, while Juno only returned for the first time in four years in the closing days of 2025. Holding back is Mercury, who until leaving an adventurous part of your chart and joining them on 2nd January, is working to turn your bucket list for 2026 into a game plan and resolutions. While in June the playful and creative part of your chart is going to power up, for now, starting the year with the right work/life balance guardrails in place couldn't be more important. With the Sun, Venus, Mercury and Mars all leaving your career sector within a five day period from 18th January to 23rd January, things won't remain as busy or as driven, making the early weeks of this professional year or for anything that you channel your competitive spirit into more a sprint than a marathon. It is then that the focus will shift more to your social life, friendship, teamwork and networking. Meanwhile, it is on 27th January that the most personally significant event of the year takes place, with Neptune, the planet of hopes and dreams returning to spend the next 13 years in Aries. This will be followed a few weeks later by Saturn, bringing the resolve and discipline to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes.

Taurus

For you, this is always going to be a month of two halves. Because the Sun will always spend the last 10 days and the first three weeks of each year in your sector of adventure, travel, learning and discovery, the solar spotlight will always be on the adventurous side of life's fence as you move into the New Year. When the Sun leaves, this will see him return to your career sector, with the solar spotlight always on your career and professional situation, matters and options by the end of the month. Because Venus and Mercury travel with the Sun but not to the same strict timetable, they will usually make that same shift at some point in the month. This can create a gradual shift from the adventurous to the more professionally or competitively charged side of life's fence. This year that shift will not only be more abrupt, happening in the space of just five days, but with a lot more planets involved. The fact that you not only start the year with the Sun and Venus in an adventurous part of your chart but Mars, the planet of passion and the asteroid Juno, the queen of commitment here as well, with Mercury joining them on 2nd January, will have you committed to your bucket list from the start. Along with support from the South Node, this is powering up the whole playful, creative and adventurous side of life's fence from the start. Yet by the end of the month, all bar Juno will end the month in your career sector, the most competitive and professionally charged part of your chart and all making that shift in a five day period from 18th January to 23rd January. Fortunately, Juno will stay on in an adventurous part of your chart until the end of March and the South Node in a playful and creative part until July.

Gemini

While because the Sun will always spend the first three weeks of January in your financial sector, there is a lot of focus on your financial situation and money matters as you move into the New Year, with a sense of anticipation in the air from the start that is going to explode with potential later in the month. It was in November 2024 that Pluto, the planet of change and transformation returned to spend the next 20 years in your sector of adventure, travel, learning and discovery and after a full year, you will be starting to get a sense of his influence and of where this is opening up life's options. Apart from starting the month with the Moon in Gemini and at a friendly aspect to Pluto, he is on his own and lying low until, within the space of five days from 18th January to 23rd January the Sun, Venus, Mercury and Mars will all return and even the Moon will move through. Until then, those same planets are more focused on your financial situation and money matters. The Sun will always have the solar spotlight on your financial situation and money matters at this time of year and on the side of the financial fence where it is more about what you do with and how you manage the money you have. As well as access to Mercury's smart head for money from 2nd January to 21st January, Mars is making his first visit in two years and Juno, the queen of commitment her first in four years. This is giving you a real chance to take your financial power back and while the rest will be gone by 23rd January, Juno is staying on until the end of March to help you set and stick to your financial resolutions. Meanwhile, with Neptune, the planet of hopes and dreams leaving your career sector on 27th January, not to return in our lifetime and Saturn, the planet with the resolve to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes a few weeks later, it is all about having a professional or personal dream that you can channel your competitive spirit into.

Cancer

Because the Sun will always spend the last 10 days and the first three weeks of each year in your relationship sector, the solar spotlight and the focus is always going to be on your relationships at this time of year. This year, you not only have more planets here than you normally would, but they are going to burn brightly and then leave. Unlike the 16 years that Pluto had spent here before leaving in November 2024, where there had been a steady, low key and a non urgent focus that was constantly there, most of the planetary activity this year will have run its course by 23rd January. Starting the year with Mars, the planet of passion and the warrior planet of the cosmos here and especially as having Jupiter in Cancer is policing a balance between your own and your relationship needs, is going to inspire you to fight for what you want from your relationships and what they need from you. With Mercury, the planet of communication only here from 2nd January to 21st January, the Sun until 20th January, Venus until 18th January and Mars gone by 23rd January, this is a short window for putting maximum focus on your relationships, with the support of the South Node in your communication sector. While the others will leave the asteroid Juno, the queen of commitment and especially commitment to your relationships will stay on until the end of March. Meanwhile, as the planets leave, they will join Pluto, who has just completed his first full year in your financial sector. While this is the point in the year when the solar spotlight will always shift off your relationships and onto your financial situation and money matters, Mars' first visit in two years will be a chance to fire up your financial passions and fighting spirit. Especially when Mars and Pluto, the planets of war and revolution team up. Meanwhile, one of the most significant events of the month is when Neptune, the planet of hopes and dreams leaves an adventurous part of your chart on 27th January and returns to spend the next 13 years in your career sector.

Leo

Thanks to having the Sun always spending the last 10 days and the first three weeks of each year in your work sector, whether at work or with whatever it is that keeps you busy and occupies your time, the year can often get off to a busy start. This year, there are not only a lot more players directly involved but playing a support role, namely Uranus in your career sector and the South Node in your income sector. As the planets move through and before leaving your work sector, they will form a friendly aspect to both, getting the year off to an empowered start across the income, work and career fronts. While it is a given that you will usually find Venus and Mercury here as well, this year you not only start the year with Mars, the planet of passion and the warrior planet of the cosmos here but having returned at the end of last month Juno, the queen of commitment. Yet while this gets the year off to a busy and almost unsustainable pace, you won't have to, with all bar Juno leaving within the space of just five days from 18th January to 23rd January. Juno will stay on until the end of March, helping to keep you committed and on track, as well as preserving a partnership that will continue to shape the early months of the year on the income, work and career fronts. Helping to keep things balanced are not only planets already in your sector of adventure, travel, learning and discovery, but on 27th January Neptune, the planet of hopes and dreams will return to spend the next 13 years here. Meanwhile, this will see the rest of the planets move on, with the Sun, Mercury, Mars and Venus all returning to your relationship sector within the space of just five days. The Sun's return on 20th January is the point in each year when the solar spotlight will always shift onto your relationships, but with even the Moon moving through during that five day period, this will be a fairly sudden and dramatic shift.

Virgo

Because the Sun will always spend the last 10 days and the first three weeks of each year in a fun, playful, romantic and creatively charged part of your chart before returning to end the month in your busy work sector, this has always been a month of two halves for you. Even more so when after 16 years, in November 2024 Pluto did the same. This meant that there was no longer planetary activity in a playful and creative part of your chart 365 days a year, making the time when there are planets here all the more urgent and especially as Pluto has returned to spend the next 20 years in your busy work sector. Pluto is there as you move into the New Year, but apart from starting the year with the Moon in your career sector and at a friendly aspect, the planet of change, transformation and rebellion is happy to lie low and wait for the Sun and the other planets to return. While having the Sun, Venus, Mercury, Mars and even the asteroid Juno in a playful and creative part of your chart will make starting the year with the right balance between work and play relatively easy. However, as it will be within a five day period from 18th January to 23rd January that all but Juno will leave and join Pluto, before things take a busier turn, this is the time to be putting guardrails in place. Meanwhile, one of the most significant events of the month and especially in terms of the impact on the year itself is Neptune, the planet of hopes and dreams' departure from your relationship sector on 27th January, where he had been since 2012 and return to your financial sector, where he will spend the next 13 years. Saturn will follow him a few weeks later, but first staying on for a few more weeks with the resolve to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes to cement your relationship dreams and aspirations, before shifting to support a new focus on your financial dreams.

Libra

The first Full Moon of 2026 will fall in your career sector on 3rd January and as is the case with each Full Moon, there will be two sides to this and this year, with a lot more significance. On the one hand, while this is a Full Moon that can jump start the new professional year and as this is the first time in 12 years that you have lucky Jupiter here and the last time that it is with Neptune and Saturn in your work sector, this is going to energise and jumpstart what is already a powerful start to the new professional year. While Jupiter is in your work sector until June and is only halfway through his 12 month quest for job growth and expansion, Neptune is leaving on 27th January and Saturn a few weeks later. On the other hand, this is a Full Moon that will always fall at some point during the Sun's month long visit to your home and family sector, which will run through the last 10 days and the first three weeks of each year. As the Sun and Moon clash, from opposite sides of life's fence, this can put your work/life balance to the test. Usually, with the Moon only here for a few days this is a short, sharp reminder, but the parade of planets moving through your home and family sector will continue to clash with Jupiter and especially in the first three weeks of the year. This will bring several work/life balance reminders and the timing couldn't be better. At the same time that Jupiter, Neptune and Saturn are getting the new professional year off to an empowered start, within a five days period from 18th January to 23rd January the Sun, Venus, Mercury, Mars and even the Moon will all return to a playful and creative part of your chart, where they will team up with Pluto, the planet of change, transformation and rebellion. As Mars and Pluto, the planets of war and revolution team up, the fight to ensure life doesn't become all work and no play will be on.

Scorpio

Because the Sun will always spend the last 10 days and the first three weeks of each year in your communication sector, the focus is not only on communication in the early weeks of the year, but this is a smart and intellectually savvy part of your chart, making it easier to remain mentally sharper and focused and better able to think on your feet. The array of planets here is giving you a tool for every occasion, from Mars' war on communication roadblocks and barriers, whether real or imagined, to Venus' focus on giving your heart and your relationships a voice. You even have the asteroid Juno, the queen of commitment and especially commitment to your relationships here. The one planet that can bring it all together is Mercury, with the planet of communication moving through from 2nd January to 21st January. With Uranus back in your relationship sector but leaving again in April and then not returning for another eight decades, it is your relationships that are benefiting from this. While Juno will stay on until the end of October, with the resolve to get and keep the communication lines open, the Sun and the rest of the planets will not only leave, but within the space of a five day period from 18th January to 23rd January. While the Sun's departure from your communication sector and return to your home and family sector on 20th January is the point in each year when the solar spotlight will always shift onto home, family and/or property matters, this year he is bringing Venus, Mars and Mercury with him. By then, with Neptune returning to spend the next 13 years in your work sector on 27th January and Saturn a few weeks later, efforts will have been put in to erect the kind of guardrails that will guard against life becoming all work and no play. Helping with that won't just be Neptune and Saturn in their final weeks in a playful and creative part of your chart, but for the first time in 12 years, starting the year with Jupiter in an adventurous part of your chart and a Full Moon there on 3rd January.

Sagittarius

While it is a given that the Sun will always spend the last 10 days and the first three weeks of each year in your income sector and that the solar spotlight will always be on your income situation, matters and options moving into the New Year, this time with both sides of the financial fence a lot more fired up than is usually the case. While you will usually see Venus and Mercury here at some point during the month and usually while the Sun is here, this year you not only start the year with Mars, the planet of passion and the warrior planet of the cosmos here as well, but even the asteroid Juno, the queen of commitment is making her first visit in four years. For the first time in 12 years, you also move into the New Year with Jupiter in your financial sector, with the planet of luck and expansion halfway through what he is working to make your biggest year for financial growth and expansion in over a decade. This is the side of the financial fence where it is more about what you do with and how you manage the money you have and it sits on the opposite side of the sky to the planets in your income sector. This means there will be multiple clashes, starting with a Full Moon in your financial sector on 3rd January, while the Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars will all clash with Jupiter as they move through. This could create several points in the first three weeks of the year when financial tensions rise, but with lucky Jupiter on one side of the financial fence and Mars, the planet of passion and the warrior planet of the cosmos on the other side, it won't take much to turn this into motivation or some real breakthroughs. This will drop back when, within a five day period from 18th January to 23rd January all but Juno will leave your income sector and return to your communication sector. It is four days later that on 27th January Neptune, the planet of hopes and dreams will return to a playful and creative part of your chart where he will spend the next 13 years, something that will have a positive impact on the rest of the year and beyond.

Capricorn

For everyone else, they have just moved into a new calendar year, but for you, until the Sun leaves Capricorn on 20th January, you are also moving into a new solar year, doubling the opportunity for new beginnings and a fresh start. At the start of the month, there might be a sense that you're not quite ready to commit to the future just yet, as you try and hold onto the past. This is thanks to starting the year with Mercury still in a nostalgic and reflective part of your chart, where he is still drawing your mental focus onto the past. That will change when on 2nd January, Mercury returns and joins the Sun, Venus, Mars and even the asteroid Juno, the queen of commitment, who are standing by and ready to take you into the future. Until within the space of a five day period from 18th January to 23rd January the Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars all leave Capricorn and especially with the New Moon here on 19th January, it is about working on your desires, hopes and aspirations for the coming year and the game plan and resolutions that can act as a roadmap. While Juno will stay on until the end of March to help you modify and stick to those resolutions, the Sun and the rest of the planets are off to join Pluto, the planet of change, transformation and rebellion in your income sector. Pluto, who returned in November 2024 to spend the next 20 years here, just completed his first full year, but with most of it spent on his own, he is ready for the return of planets that can make it happen. Things are locked, loaded and ready for when Venus, the planet of money's return to your income sector on 18th January kicks off what has the potential to be the most lucrative months of 2025. Meanwhile, one of the major events of the year will be when on 27th January Neptune, the planet of hopes and dreams will leave your communication sector and return to your home and family sector, where he will spend the next 13 years.

Aquarius

While the world might be celebrating the New Year and the opportunity for new beginnings and a fresh start, for the first three weeks of each year you will always still have one foot in the past, not ready to draw that line in the sand until later in the month. That is because, by the time you move into the New Year you are only 10 days into the month long wind down of your old solar year. This year, with Mars, Venus and even the asteroid Juno all in a nostalgic and reflective part of your chart with the Sun and Mercury joining them on 2nd January, this is even more of a pull towards the past and with it, a call for time to reflect. However, one planet looking to the future is Pluto, with the planet of change and transformation having returned to spend the next 20 years in Aquarius in November 2024 and more than ready to welcome the Sun and an influx of planets. While the Sun's return to Aquarius on 20th January is the point when this will always bring you to the start of your birthday month and new solar year, this is in the heart of a five day period from 18th January to 23rd January, that will be a dramatic shift from closing old doors to opening new doors and embracing the future. In that time the Sun, Mercury, Mars and Venus will all return to Aquarius and even the Moon will make its first visit for the year from 19th January to 21st January, in time to move into your birthday month and new solar year emotionally and intuitively engaged and aware from the start. Meanwhile, starting the year with Jupiter in your work sector, but only halfway through a 12 month quest for job growth and expansion, will see the Full Moon here on 3rd January get the month off to an empowered start. With Neptune, the planet of hopes and dreams leaving your income sector on 27th January and Saturn a few weeks later, with the potential for a lucrative start as well.

Pisces

While this month will see the faster planets become more compacted, with little space between them and in the process creating a significant shift at one point in the month, for you the biggest and most significant event is Neptune's departure from Pisces on 27th January and return to your income sector, where he will spend the next 13 years. On both fronts, this is a significant event and especially personally, for this brings to an end an era that began in 2012, when for the first time in our lifetime Neptune, the planet of hopes and dreams and your ruling planet returned to Pisces. While the majority of your cosmic mates have their ruling planet return once a year, some twice a year and even those where this only happens once in a decade or two, at least more than once in a lifetime. Neptune's departure on 27th January will end that once in a lifetime for you, but with nearly four weeks to get serious about moving into the future with a dream, with Saturn staying on until next month with the resolve to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes. This is when having worked as a team for the last three years, Neptune and Saturn will take their show on the road, this time opening up a major new chapter on the income front, something that Jupiter will capitalise on when he returns to your work sector in June to begin your biggest year for job growth and expansion in over a decade. Meanwhile, as the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars and the asteroid Juno become a tighter pack, in the first three weeks of the year this is putting a lot of focus on your social life, friendship, teamwork and networking. Along with the support from the South Node in your relationship sector and Uranus in your communication sector, this is creating a positive start to the year on the communication, social and relationship fronts. While Juno will stay on in your friendship sector until the end of March, preserving that partnership, within the space of the five days from 18th January to 23rd January the Sun and the rest of the planets here will all leave. This will see them return to a nostalgic and reflective part of your chart, beginning the month long with down of your old solar year and of your current Mars, Venus and Mercury cycles.
