Monthly Money Astro Horoscope

May 2023

Aries

Because the Sun will always spend the first three weeks of May in your income sector, the solar spotlight is always on your income situation, matters and options at this time of year. This year a lot of water had already passed under the bridge before the Sun even returned, while there will be major and more long term developments before he leaves. By the time the Sun returned to your income sector last month Venus, the planet of money had already been and gone, updating your income desires and expectations for the coming year while leaving you with a better sense of where the money is. By the time the Sun returned Mercury was not only here but for over two weeks had been giving you the smart head for money needed to get your head in the game. Normally only here for 14 to 15 days Mercury should have left but instead, a day after the Sun returned on 20th April he turned retrograde and will remain in retrograde motion until 15th May. For the first half of the month this will see the Sun keep the solar spotlight on the road ahead while Mercury has his on the rear view mirror. It is during this time that the Moon will not only move through your financial sector from 5th May to 7th May, but a clash with the Sun will create an eclipsing Full Moon on 6th May. This is something that can energise both sides of the financial fence and as the last eclipse before the lunar nodes leave your two money houses in July, this will make their job of policing a balance between money coming in and money going out more transparent. Meanwhile, it is in between Mercury's direct turn on 15th May and the Sun's departure from your income sector on 21st May that will see everything change. It is on 17th May that Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion will return to begin your biggest year for income growth and expansion in over a decade, with the Moon's return from 18th May to 20th May giving you an early read on his influence. This will also ensure your nose for money is sharp during the Sun's final days and during Mercury's early days back in direct motion.

Taurus

While the Sun won't return to your income sector until 21st May, the point in each year when the solar spotlight will always shift onto your income situation, matters and options, this already has a head start and thanks to Venus, the planet of money the Moon gets off to a lucrative start. Venus has not only returned earlier in the year than she normally would but by the time she returned last month Mars had just wrapped up his longest visit in eight decades 17 days earlier. Mars was gone by the time Venus returned but when she arrived it was to find the ground littered with the remains of shattered roadblocks and barriers, whether real or imagined and with a path cleared that was filled with untapped income potential. The few weeks that Venus will spend in your income sector each year can be the most lucrative due to the fact that she works through the laws of attraction, but she can only attract what is there and this is why returning after Mars has just spent seven months here is making all the difference. Venus will leave on 8th May but the asteroid Juno, the queen of commitment's return on 2nd May will ensure that things don't go off the boil before the Sun returns on 21st May. This is the point in each year when you are just starting to look at income potential, but you will be much further down the road by then. The Moon will make its monthly visit to your income sector from 20th May to 22nd May, so will be here to ensure your nose for money is sharp and you are emotionally and intuitively engaged when the Sun returns on 21st May. Held back by his retrograde phase in Taurus Mercury won't return until next month, ensuring that while a lot of water has already passed under the bridge there is still a lot more to pass. Meanwhile, with no planetary activity on the other side of the financial fence, the Moon's return to your financial sector from 7th May to 9th May will be a valuable chance to check in on money matters.

Gemini

With the Sun not returning to your income sector until later next month, the point in each year when the solar spotlight shifts onto your income situation, matters and options, this is early in the year to have planetary activity here. Yet things have not only gotten off to an early start, the conditions are ideal for making May not only the most lucrative month of 2023 but with implications for months to come. It was in March that Mars returned for his first visit to your income sector in two years and held back for seven months by his retrograde phase in Gemini, he was late to return and has been fighting to make up for lost time ever since. By the time you move into the new month Mars has been in your income sector for nearly six weeks, with his war on glass ceilings, roadblocks and barriers, whether real or imagined as he urges you to fight for what you deserve already having a lot of support. That support has come from a friendly aspect to Saturn in your career sector and to the South Node in your work sector. An eclipsing Full Moon in your work sector on 6th May is going to energise things across the income, work and career fronts, making Mars' job a lot easier. However, it is a day after the Moon leaves that things will take an even more lucrative turn when Venus, the planet of money returns to your income sector on 8th May. Where Mars gives you the drive to fight for what you deserve, Venus works through the laws of attraction and working in tandem for the first time here in two years, this and the support from the professional gods is what makes this such a potentially lucrative month. Mars will leave on 21st May, but Venus will stay on, making the most of the last full month this year when there is no planetary activity on the other side of the financial fence to compete with. The Moon's return to your income sector from 22nd May to 24th May will be a chance to regroup after Mars leaves, while at the same time this can act as a trigger at a point when the laws of attraction are in effect.

Cancer

While it is business as usual at the start of the month and past experience suggests that it will stay that way, by the end of the month the whole dynamics of this financial year will have flipped on its heels and it will stay that way for the rest of the year. For you, what business as usual looks like is ongoing planetary activity in your financial sector, the side of the financial fence where the focus is more on what you do with and how you manage the money you have and nothing on the income side of the financial fence, as has been the case since last August. While Saturn ended a three year visit to your financial sector in March, Pluto's return a few weeks later has kept the focus on money matters. However, on 2nd May Pluto will turn retrograde and after less than six weeks here the planet of change and revolution will turn around and start heading back out again. While Pluto won't leave until next month, he will not only leave it empty, but it will remain empty for the rest of the year. This will be the longest period of time that your financial sector has been empty since 2019 and when you finally get planetary activity on the income front it means that it will have the full attention of the money gods, with room to grow and expand and you won't have to wait long for that to happen. While the Sun won't return to your income sector until the latter part of July, the point in each year when the solar spotlight shifts onto your income situation, matters and options, this will be underway by the end of the month. It begins with Mars' return to your income sector on 21st May, with the warrior planet of the cosmos returning to not only begin his war on glass ceilings, roadblocks and barriers, whether real or imagined but to begin the first planetary activity on the income front in two years. That Mars will return just four days after Jupiter leaves your career sector on 17th May means there is a lot to capitalise on. However, with Venus returning early next month to begin her longest visit in our lifetime, this is just the start of something game changing. The Moon's return to your income sector from 25th May to 27th May will give you an early taste of this.

Leo

While there are no big changes on either side of the financial fence this month, both are in a good and settled position, with a lot of support there is reason for confidence but little urgency. While Saturn won't return retrograde in your financial sector until next month he is already slowing down and as he enters his second full month of a three year journey he is buoyed by the support since his return. This is helping to build your confidence and with Saturn drawing closer to Neptune, planet of dreams until they both leave in early 2026, this is the early stage of a coming together of the resolve to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes in order to turn financial dreams into reality while keeping your feet on the ground. The Moon will make its monthly visit to your financial sector from 13th May to 15th May. As it moves through the Moon will fuel your financial instincts and imagination while giving you a chance to become more emotionally engaged. The Moon's alignment with Saturn when it returns and another with Neptune before it leaves, will give you a better read on their influence. Meanwhile, while only a minor player the dwarf planet Ceres' last full month in your income sector is giving you a better sense of your income needs and priorities and with perfect timing. Ceres returned late last year to begin her first deep dive into your income needs and priorities in four years and while she left just before Christmas, less than three months later she retrograded back in for a double dip visit. Ceres will turn direct on 7th May and begin the trek back out again, but with the Sun in your career sector until 21st May and Jupiter returning to begin your biggest year for professional growth and expansion in over a decade on 17th May, the timing couldn't be better. The Moon will start the month in your income sector, sharpening your nose for money and acting as a trigger before leaving on 2nd May, only to return and do it all again from 27th May to 30th May.

Virgo

When the Sun left your financial sector last month, he may have taken the solar spotlight off your financial situation and money matters, but an eclipsing New Moon in his final hours was always going to create ongoing momentum. That momentum was left in the safe hands of Jupiter, who moved into his final four weeks in your financial sector during the Sun's final days. It was a day later that Jupiter caught up with the dwarf planet Eris and it is this alignment with the warrior princess of the cosmos that is still separating as we move into the new month. With Jupiter leaving on 17th May, this is giving you the momentum and the drive to make the most out of the final weeks of what has been a 12 month quest for financial growth and expansion. While Jupiter will move on Eris, who has been here since 1926 will not only stay on but will still be here when the planet of luck and expansion comes full circle in 2034. Eris represents that part of you that if you dig deep enough you have always been able to tap into when you need to fight for the things that matter, except Jupiter has drawn her influence out to the surface where no digging is required. The Moon will not only return before Jupiter leaves but returning to your financial sector from 15th May to 17th May this will ensure your financial instincts are sharp and you are emotionally and intuitively engaged as he leaves. The Moon will stay on for a few hours after Jupiter leaves and in its final hours will align with Eris, with a chance to hand over to the planet who will take it from here. Meanwhile, with no planetary activity on the income side of the financial fence, having the Moon return twice this month will make up for that. The Moon will not only move through from 2nd May to 5th May but will move into a friendly aspect to Venus, the planet of money in her final days in your career sector as it moves through. The Moon will return on the same day that Pluto turns retrograde in your work sector, making these a defining few days across the income, work and career fronts. The Moon will come full circle on 30th May, once again sharpening your nose for money and acting as a trigger.

Libra

Because the Sun will always spend the first three weeks of May in your financial sector, the solar spotlight is always on your financial situation and money matters at this time of year. Yet this month you have a mix of the ordinary and the game changing and in a way that will make this a month of two halves. The month not only begins with the Sun in your financial sector and with the solar spotlight on money matters but with Mercury in retrograde motion until 15th May. While the Sun has the solar spotlight on the road ahead, Mercury has his focus on the road behind, while giving you a chance to spend time back at the drawing board. This is giving you more time to think and while Mercury will normally rush through in just 14 to 15 days, by the time he leaves next month he will have been here for over two months and all that time you will have access to his smart head for money. While this would always be an advantage, time will reveal that this is a deliberate strategy by the money gods, giving you time to prepare for what comes next. It is just two days after Mercury turns direct and just four days before the Sun is due to leave that Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion will return to your financial sector for the first time since 2011. While the Sun and eventually Mercury will move on, Jupiter is here to stay and on 17th May will begin your biggest year for financial growth and expansion in over a decade. While this puts all the planetary activity on the side of the financial fence where the focus is more on what you do with and how you manage the money you have, the income side of the financial fence is well represented as well. Apart from an eclipsing Full Moon in your income sector on 6th May, the last eclipse before the lunar nodes leave your two money houses in July, there is a huge amount of support from the professional gods. The Moon is in your income sector from 5th May to 7th May and in that time will connect with planets on the job and career fronts. This will also ensure your nose for money is sharp when Venus, the planet of money returns to your career sector on 8th May.

Scorpio

While the Sun won't return to your financial sector until 21st May, it is a given that the solar spotlight will always be on your financial situation and money matters by the end of this month. However, things have not only gotten off to an early start but with planets that can distance themselves from the Sun's more realistic take on money matters and the month long financial housekeeping that he will begin on 21st May. The planet that is benefiting from this the most is Venus, who last year returned to your financial sector after the Sun had been and gone and when most of your financial intentions and resolutions had been banked. This year Venus not only returned ahead of the Sun but when she returned last month it had only been 17 days since Mars had wrapped up a seven month visit. Where Mars had spent from August 2022 to March 2023 firing up your financial passions and fighting spirit, something that he will normally get to spend just six weeks doing, you not only had a lot of momentum but the warrior planet had cleared the path ahead of obstacles, roadblocks and barriers, whether real or imagined. As the planet of money, Venus knows how to exploit financial potential and also how to fuel your financial confidence. Until leaving on 8th May, this also leaves Venus free to update your financial desires and expectations, knowing that the Sun and Mercury, when he returns next month can focus on the when, where and how. What will not only keep the momentum going after Venus leaves and before the Sun's return on 21st May but will give you time to turn her desires into resolutions will be the asteroid Juno, the queen of commitment's return on 2nd May. Meanwhile, with no planetary activity on the income side of the financial fence but a big month on the job and career fronts, the Moon's return to your income sector from 7th May to 9th May will be more than just a chance to check in. The Moon can sharpen your nose for money and act as a trigger and returning just as Jupiter moves into his final 10 days in your work sector the timing couldn't be better.

Sagittarius

While there is once again change in the air the major changes won't take place until next month, but it is putting a lot more importance of money matters this month. It was at the end of March that within the space of 24 hours two events happened that completely flipped this financial year on its heels. It began with Pluto's departure from your income sector, something that left it empty for the first time since his return in 2008 and concluded a day later with Mars' return to your financial sector. By the skin of his teeth Mars returned to fire up your financial passions and fighting spirit to find no planets on the other side of the financial fence, something that hasn't happened in 15 years. For Mars and money matters this was a major advantage, with Pluto putting income matters on hold and letting the money gods shift all their focus onto the other side of the financial fence. That was never going to be permanent and on 2nd May Pluto will turn retrograde, something that will see the planet of change and revolution turnaround and start heading back towards your income sector. Your sixth sense is likely to get wind of this when the Moon moves through your income sector from 9th May to 11th May. Once back Pluto will remain here for the rest of the year but by the time he returns next month Mars will be gone and so too will Venus, who joins him in your financial sector on 8th May. Knowing that Pluto is on his way back to shift the balance of power back to the income side of the financial fence will make the planets of money and passion even more determined to gain as much traction on the financial front as possible. Mars will leave on 21st May but Venus will stay on, while Venus' return on 8th May will give you a better sense of where to channel Mars' financial passions and fighting spirit. The Moon's return to your financial sector from 22nd May to 25th May will be a chance to regroup after Mars leaves.

Capricorn

There is change in the air and the dynamics of this financial year are about to change, though to start with there is little sign of this and more what your sixth sense is telling you. As has been the case all year all the planetary activity is on the income side of the financial fence and there has been no planetary activity on the other side, where the focus is on your financial situation and money matters since last August. With the Sun not returning to your financial sector until towards the end of July each year, that should remain the case for several more months, except that is not what your sixth sense will be telling you. What you are picking up on is Mars' approach, with the planet of passion and the warrior planet of the cosmos returning for his first visit to your financial sector in two years on 21st May. On its own this is a game changer, with Mars not only returning to give money matters some much needed attention but to fire up your financial passions and fighting spirit in a way that gives you a chance to take your financial power back. However, what makes this significant is that it is early next month that Venus, the planet of money will return for what is normally a 24 day visit. Instead, a retrograde turn will keep her here until October, for what will be her longest visit in our lifetime. With Mars returning just a few weeks earlier but also with the planets of money and passion working together for several weeks, this will have major implications. In the meantime, while Pluto won't leave your income sector until next month, a retrograde turn on 2nd May will see him turn around and start heading back out again, less than six weeks after he returned. Pluto will still be here when Mars returns to your financial sector and as the planets of war and revolution clash there could be some financial tension, especially around 21st/22nd May and again when the Moon moves through your financial sector from 25th May to 27th May. However, these are planets that know how to turn financial tension into motivation while this is simply income and money matters battling for your attention at the same time.

Aquarius

On both sides of the financial fence there is reason for confidence and while there is planetary activity on both the income and financial fronts all month, there is no conflict or tension between them, either in terms of physically getting in each other's way or with conflicting mandates. As Saturn moves into his second full month in your income sector, he is not only settling into a journey that will continue for another three years but he has had a huge amount of support. Already Saturn has formed a friendly aspect to Mars in your work sector and the South Node in your career sector. This is something that an eclipsing Full Moon on 6th May will energise, with things coming together again across the income, work and career fronts. This is something that Venus, the planet of money will exploit when she joins Mars in your work sector on 8th May. This is something that will also put Venus in harmony with Saturn, increasing the support and confidence on the income front. It is the Moon's return to your income sector from 13th May to 15th May that will not only sharpen your nose for money and act as a trigger but as the only visit while Venus is in your work sector will make her job of fuelling your job confidence, attracting opportunities and steering things in a lucrative direction a lot easier. Meanwhile, on the other side of the financial fence, the dwarf planet Ceres has come to a standstill ahead of her direct turn in your financial sector on 7th May. Ceres had left just before Christmas, supposedly bringing her first deep dive into your financial needs and priorities in four years to an end. Instead, less than three months later Ceres retrograded back in, with her direct turn beginning her journey back out again. Ceres won't leave until next month, giving you another month to work with her in this journey of discovery and where it is less about the money and more about understanding your financial needs and priorities. The Moon will do both, focusing on the money and on your financial needs and priorities until leaving your financial sector on 2nd May and again when it returns from 27th May to 30th May.

Pisces

While the Sun left your income sector last month, even without an eclipsing New Moon in his final hours this was never going to see things dial back or at least not yet. That will happen but not until 17th May, when almost a year to the day after returning to begin your biggest year for income growth and expansion in over a decade Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion will finally leave. While Jupiter returned last May, most of the thrust needed to get things up to speed and to gain the right momentum only happened in the last three months. By the time Jupiter returned last year he was already slowing ahead of a retrograde turn that in October saw him retrograde back out again. Jupiter never got out of low gear in the whole five months that he was here in 2022 and when he returned just before Christmas, it was not only to start over from the very beginning again but he was still barely moving. It wasn't until Venus returned in February that Jupiter was starting to pick up speed, with the planets of money and luck coming together to get things going. Since then, the Sun and Mercury have both moved through and an eclipsing New Moon just as Jupiter moved into his final four weeks was the last blast of the final rocket launch that can not only get the most out of his remaining weeks but ensure the momentum continues after he leaves. Jupiter spent the final days of April aligned with the dwarf planet Eris, the warrior princess of the cosmos, who will take over from where he leaves off. Eris has been here since 1926 and represents that part of you that if you dig deep enough, you have always been able to find the resolve to fight for what you deserve. Except you won't have to dig far for Jupiter has brought to the surface and when Jupiter leaves on 17th May she will keep the momentum going. The Moon's return to your income sector from 15th May to 17th May will ensure that your nose for money during Jupiter's final days while keeping you emotionally and intuitively engaged. Meanwhile, it is from 2nd May to 5th May and again from 30th May that the Moon will bring a chance to check in on money matters.
